Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) is an annual event that seeks to award excellence in movie making on the African continent and the African diaspora.
The 2018 Golden Movie Awards Africa which was held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
This year’s edition was hosted by popular Nigerian comedian AY and actress Joselyn Dumas.
The occasion saw familiar faces like Nikki Samonas, Nana Ama McBrown, Veteran actor Fred Amugi, Nigerian actress Lilian Esoro, Lydia Forson, Vicky Zugah, Salma Mumin, Fiifi Coleman, Jackie Appiah, Cameroon’s Allene Menget, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Ekow Smith-Asante, Gloria Sarfo, Peter Ritchie, just to mention a few.
Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas was named ‘Best Actress’ at the recently held Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival for her lead role in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s ‘Potato Potahto’.

The movie, a romantic comedy, was premiered in Lagos last week and is expected to be premiered in Accra, at the Silverbird Cinema on November 30, 2017.
‘Potato Potahto’ has featured at international film festivals such as Cannes Film Festival, Durban International Film Festival and the British Urban Film Festival.
It was also selected for the Film Africa Festival which was held from October 27 to November 5, 2017.
